| Ok... it is sizzling hot out here... and not in a good way. Here in Saratoga/San Jose, it was around 108 degrees. My sister and I got stuck outside for like, 5 minutes in sun, and we almost died. Just from that. Yea... crazy. All we can do really is drink ice tea lemonades, lay around lethargically, and hope our air conditioning holds out.
I really should learn to cope with the heat, because on Monday, I will be co-leading a Houseboating trip for 28 youngins from the church youth group. We are boating on Lake Shasta (northern california, largest source of water to the state-bu for you brits) where the temperature is supposed to be around 114??? We will be spending MUCH time in the water. I am really excited about this trip, because it is a wonderful time that kids get to encounter Christ through talks, prayer and solo time, and 24/7 fellowship.... and water sports! I generally sit out on the water skiing/tubing... I don't like the coconut conking sound that the heads make when you slam into someone!! I have spent the week compiling song books, making copies, buying 40 wooden crosses to paint, praying for kids, assigning small groups, etc. I am up to my eyeballs in beads :)
As the time draws near for me to travel over to the land of Tea and Crumpets, God has been blessing me in very tangible ways. My sister has finally (after 5 years) agreed to go on the houseboating trip.. hopefully to discover the Lord! Also, I put an ad on a job website for the San Francisco area, about being a nanny till September, and got a reply/job from an Englishman who will be here on business with his two kids for a month!!! I am getting paid "bank" (that means a lot- american slang). There are still some things I feel sketchy about, not having met this guy, etc. but I am just praying that God will guide me into a safe position. Also, my friend is selling her car, and it is the EXACT one that my parents were looking for for myself and my sister.... weird! So basically, we are buying it!
I miss my friends up in Sonoma now... I left a week ago today, but it feels like longer! They threw me a surprise going away party before I left.... what a shocker! I had no idea.. it was great. Pictures are below.

1. The love of Christ is rich and free;
Fixed on His own eternally;
Nor earth, nor hell, can it remove;
Long as He lives, His own He’ll love.
2. His loving heart engaged to be
Their everlasting Surety;
’Twas love that took their cause in hand,
And love maintains it to the end.
Chorus: Love cannot from its post withdraw;
Nor death, nor hell, nor sin, nor law,
Can turn the Surety’s heart away;
He’ll love His own to endless day.
3. Love has redeemed His sheep with blood;
And love will bring them safe to God;
Love calls them all from death to life;
And love will finish all their strife.
4. He loves through every changing scene,
Nor aught from Him can Zion wean;
Not all the wanderings of her heart
Can make His love for her depart.
(Repeat chorus)
5. At death, beyond the grave, He’ll love;
In endless bliss, His own shall prove
The blazing glory of that love
Which never could from them remove.
Tag: Which never could from them remove. This song is so fantastic, and incredibly comforting!!! Isn't it great that it is true? It helps me!

| Hi friends, I am back! Well, I graduated (not technically) and walked and everything, AND sang at the graduation, which was ... eventful (I messed up slightly, and knocked over a multi-thousand dollar mic!) And since then I have been taking four hours of summer school 4 days a week, and working 25-30 hours a week... AHHHHH! Suffice to say, I am tired :) But the weather is nice and hot, and I have filled my small free time with art projects, the tv show "So You Think You Can Dance?", and competetive card playing (Dutch Blitz).
I will be returning to Saratoga mid July, and be a co-leader on a youth group houseboating trip, while working and................... preparing to move to KINGSTON!!! I got a 6 month work visa, but hopefully I will be able to stay longer. This is especially cool because Amanda is going over around the same time, due to her british-texan future husband. If anyone has any ideas of where/ who I can live with, please let me know! I am very excited to return. I am starving for a solid, lively church, where I get chewy spiritual bread and not milk!! I have been struggling lately, because I am not meeting as regularly with my group of fellowship, due to the summer, and also, the church I have been sticking with all year just does nothingfor me anymore. Now, I know that that can be a selfish attitude, because we should think of what WE can do for the CHURCH, but a jesus-lovin' gal has to be fed to grow!!!
I hope you all are doing well, and growing strong in the abiding love of Jesus Christ! Halleluia! Amen! Preach it sista'! Uh huh! Ok, I'm done.....
Love, Claire (that is a picture of me .. hahaha)
